Zendesk pricing explained: plans, seats and add-ons
19 Oct 2026 · 9 min read
The short answer
Zendesk charges per agent per month. On its pricing page on 19 October 2026, Support Team is $19 billed annually, Suite Team $55, and Suite Professional $115, with Enterprise on request. Monthly billing costs more, and add-ons such as Copilot at $50 per agent stack on top.
Zendesk pricing is per agent, per month, and it depends on the plan and on whether you pay yearly or monthly. This guide reads the Zendesk pricing page as it stood on 19 October 2026, shows what a 10-agent team pays, and then puts SautiDesk’s per-user prices in shillings beside it. Zendesk lists its prices in US dollars.
What are the Zendesk pricing plans?
Zendesk shows four plans. Support Team is the ticketing-only entry plan. Suite Team and Suite Professional add channels and AI. Suite Enterprise with Copilot has no listed price, only “Talk to Sales”.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Voice on the plan | WhatsApp on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19 | $25 | Not included | Not included |
| Suite Team | $55 | $69 | Embedded voice, voicemail, call recording and group routing | Included with social and business channels, “additional fees apply” |
| Suite Professional | $115 | $149 | Suite Team voice, plus IVR phone trees, skills-based routing, an external outbound caller ID, and overflow and after-hours routing | Included with social and business channels, “additional fees apply” |
| Suite Enterprise + Copilot | Talk to Sales | Talk to Sales | Ask Zendesk | Ask Zendesk |
Text messages are an add-on on both Suite plans. The page also lists automated resolutions included each month per agent: 5 on Support Team, 5 on Suite Team and 10 on Suite Professional, up to 10,000 a year.
Is Zendesk cheaper billed annually or monthly?
Annual billing is cheaper. Suite Team is $55 per agent a month on a yearly contract and $69 on monthly billing, a $14 difference. For Suite Professional it is $115 against $149, a $34 difference. A yearly contract is a commitment, and monthly billing lets you leave or resize sooner, so the extra is the price of that flexibility.
What does Zendesk cost for 10 agents? A worked example
Multiply the per-agent price by the number of agents, then by 12. These figures use the page’s listed prices and nothing else, so they exclude tax, add-ons and usage.
| Plan | Per month, annual billing | Per year, annual billing | Per month, monthly billing | Per year, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team ($19 / $25) | $190 | $2,280 | $250 | $3,000 |
| Suite Team ($55 / $69) | $550 | $6,600 | $690 | $8,280 |
| Suite Professional ($115 / $149) | $1,150 | $13,800 | $1,490 | $17,880 |
Suite Team on monthly billing costs $1,680 a year more than on annual billing ($8,280 minus $6,600). Support Team is the cheapest line, but it lists no voice features, so a team that answers phones will look at Suite.
How does the Zendesk bill grow as the team grows?
Linearly with seats, and faster once add-ons are attached to every seat. Copilot at $50 is per agent, so it scales with the team the same way the plan does. The table shows Suite Professional on annual billing, with and without Copilot.
| Agents | Plan only ($115 each) | With Copilot ($165 each) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | $575 | $825 |
| 10 | $1,150 | $1,650 |
| 20 | $2,300 | $3,300 |
| 50 | $5,750 | $8,250 |
The same logic applies to included AI. Suite Professional includes 10 automated resolutions per agent a month, so 10 agents get 100. If your AI resolves 250 conversations in a month, 150 are over the allowance. At the pay-as-you-go price of $2.00 that is $300, and at the committed price of $1.50 it is $225. Your volume decides whether this is small or the largest line on the bill.
Which Zendesk add-ons cost extra?
Several features are separate line items. The page lists these prices:
- Copilot: $50 per agent a month, paid yearly, and it can be added to Professional and higher plans.
- Workforce Engagement Bundle: $50 per agent a month, paid yearly.
- Contact Center: $83 per agent a month, paid yearly.
- Action credits: $200 per 100K actions per subscription term.
- Automated resolutions beyond the included ones: $1.50 committed, or $2.00 pay-as-you-go.
- Quality Assurance, extra light agents, sandboxes, text messages, local and toll-free numbers, and inbound and outbound minutes: listed as add-ons with no price on the page.
Add Copilot to ten Suite Professional agents and the sum becomes $1,150 plus $500, which is $1,650 a month on annual billing, or $19,800 a year. The unpriced add-ons are the ones to ask about. Phone numbers and call minutes are on that list, so the phone side of the bill is not fully on the page. Zendesk’s FAQ also says features such as App Builder, Action Builder and Voice are billed on consumption above the plan allowance.
How does SautiDesk pricing compare with Zendesk?
SautiDesk is also per person, but in Kenya shillings, and calls and WhatsApp are part of the product. Basic is KES 1,000 per user a month and Pro is KES 3,000. The workspace owner is free, and everyone else, including supervisors, is billed. Basic includes one phone number, and each extra number is KES 500 a month. Incoming calls are free and outgoing calls are KES 0.05 per second from a prepaid balance. You pay by M-Pesa or card.
| Option | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| Zendesk Suite Team, annual billing | $550 | $6,600 |
| Zendesk Suite Professional, annual billing | $1,150 | $13,800 |
| SautiDesk Basic (10 people besides the owner) | KES 10,000 | KES 120,000 |
| SautiDesk Pro (10 people besides the owner) | KES 30,000 | KES 360,000 |
Pro adds a live floor view, listening in on live calls, unlimited queues, your own outcomes and reports by agent, channel and outcome. Basic has one queue, one number and one email address. Calls, WhatsApp, SMS, email and web chat are on both plans. The Zendesk figures exclude tax, add-ons, numbers and minutes, and the SautiDesk figures exclude usage from the prepaid balance, so convert the dollar figures with your bank’s rate on the day you buy and add your own usage.
Features are the other half of the decision. Zendesk alternatives for teams that answer calls and WhatsApp covers when a per-agent help desk stops fitting.
What do you get on each Zendesk plan?
Support Team is email and ticketing, with no voice or social channels in the plan comparison. Suite Team adds embedded voice, voicemail, call recording, group routing and the social and business channels (WhatsApp is among them), with text messages as an add-on. Suite Professional adds IVR phone trees, skills-based routing, an external number for outbound caller ID, overflow and after-hours routing, SLAs, CSAT surveys and up to 100 light agents. The jump from Team to Professional is $60 per agent on annual billing, so for 10 agents it is $600 a month, which is $7,200 a year. Decide whether you need phone trees, skills routing and SLAs, or only the phone.
| Feature | Support Team | Suite Team | Suite Professional |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embedded voice, voicemail and call recording | No | Yes | Yes |
| Social and business channels (WhatsApp among them) | No | Yes, additional fees apply | Yes, additional fees apply |
| IVR phone trees | No | No | Yes |
| Skills-based routing | No | No | Yes |
| Service level agreements (SLAs) | No | No | Yes |
| Light agents | No | Add-on | Up to 100 included |
| Included automated resolutions per agent a month | 5 | 5 | 10 |
What should you check before you sign with Zendesk?
- Which plan has the channels you use today. Voice and WhatsApp are on Suite, not on Support Team, and IVR and skills-based routing are on Suite Professional.
- What “additional fees apply” means for WhatsApp. Zendesk links its WhatsApp pricing change announcement from that note, so read it before you budget.
- The price of phone numbers, minutes and text messages, which the page lists as add-ons without a figure.
- How many automated resolutions you expect. Count what is included per agent, then price the excess.
- Annual versus monthly: multiply the difference by 12 and by your agent count.
- Who counts as an agent. Ask whether supervisors and part-time staff need paid seats.
- Tax. Prices are shown in dollars and Zendesk does not show tax on the page, so ask what your invoice will add.
A fair test is to write your own bill for the first year: seats, add-ons, numbers, minutes, messages. Do the same for each tool you shortlist, see how to pick help desk software, and compare the totals.
